Dana Brody, Executive Managing Director

Dana Brody serves as Executive Managing Director for Commercial Asset Group's multi-family division following four years with Grubb & Ellis Company where she was an Associate Vice President and the firm's leading multi-family sales professional nationwide. Her practice, known as The Brody Real Estate Group, focuses on the exclusive listing and sale of multi-housing investment properties ranging in size from $2,000,000 to $20,000,000 across the Los Angeles Area, from Downtown to Santa Monica and from the San Fernando Valley to the South Bay.

Dana was the #1 multi-family sales professional for Grubb & Ellis nationwide in 2008 and 2009. In 2009, Real Estate Southern California named Brody one of the "Top 30 Under 30" in commercial real estate. She was also chosen as one of C.R.E.W. Los Angeles' "Women on the Rise" and was honored at their annual "Women at the Top" banquet. Dana was also a finalist in for the Los Angeles Business Journal's "Women Making a Difference" award in the category of Rising Star in both 2010 & 2011.

Dana began her career in commercial real estate in 2003 at CB Richard Ellis, working with another very successful female commercial real estate broker, Laurie Lustig-Bower. As Business Development Director for Team Lustig-Bower, Brody successfully generated more than $75,000,000 million in multi-family sales transactions, including the sale of a 100-unit condominium conversion in Santa Clarita that traded for just under $20,000,000 and a $7,000,000 condominium development site in Tarzana.

In 2006, as an Investment Associate at Marcus & Millichap, she was given the "Pace Setter Award" for a record number of closed transactions within the first year of working at the company.

Recently, she sold 62 units as part of a three-property portfolio, a total sale valued at just under $6,000,000, located in the heart of the Hollywood re-development zone. Hired as the exclusive advisor, her responsibilities included creating all marketing materials, soliciting offers, negotiating with buyers and handling all aspects of the transaction from start to finish. In this case, a transaction considered challenging in today's market was only further complicated by a required loan assumption that involved several hurdles to close, including re-calculated proceeds and last minute pay down penalties.

Dana has written, or been quoted, on real estate issues in a number of publications, including The Los Angeles Times, The Los Angeles Business Journal, Western Real Estate Business and Real Estate Southern California. She is also a trusted advisor to many multi-housing appraisers, commercial real estate research firms and both regional and national banks.

Dana received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a Minor in History from Arizona State University.
